Starting April with a late defeat on the road at Chelsea and ending it by being held at home to Burnley, Erik ten Hag's team also faced Liverpool, Bournemouth, Coventry and Sheffield United in the space of 23 days, as we reached the final of the Emirates FA Cup for the second consecutive year.

Contributing both in defence and attack, Fernandes, Garnacho and Maguire all have strong arguments for why they should be named our Player of the Month. Read about each player's April output below, before casting your vote in our fan poll.

BRUNO FERNANDES: 6 apps / 7 goals / 2 assists / 3 MOTM awards

Finishing the month with more goals than games played, Bruno has made a telling impact, once more, for the Reds in April.

Our skipper began the month by applying the finishing touch to a well-worked team move at Chelsea and then followed it up with an incredible long-range finish in our 2-2 draw with Liverpool just days later.

In the next three matches, a draw at Bournemouth and victories over Coventry - in the FA Cup - and Sheffield United, Fernandes was heavily involved, with braces against the Cherries and the Blades sandwiching the tense Wembley tie against the Sky Blues where he scored and assisted.

Such was his influence, our no.8 was named United's Man of the Match in half of our matches in April. He also has three entries on the 12-strong shortlist for our Goal of the Month award too.

ALEJANDRO GARNACHO: 6 apps / 2 goals / 1 assist

On the three-man shortlist for the second consecutive month, Alejandro had yet another fruitful month in what is proving to be a standout campaign for the 19-year-old.

Three goal involvements in six starts further highlights Garna's growing influence on the United squad, and the Argentina international began the month with a brace at Chelsea.

Our no.17 was used on both wings by Ten Hag during April, with the winger producing a pinpoint cross from the left against Sheffield United which landed right on the head of Maguire, who made no mistake to draw us level.

Garnacho, like his fellow Player of the Month nominees, began all six of United's matches in April, and the teenager is now on 36 starts for the campaign.

HARRY MAGUIRE: 6 apps / 2 goals

A model professional, Harry scored twice in April and, at times, was the Reds' only fit senior centre-back, amid our ongoing injury worries.

Raphael Varane, Willy Kambwala and Casemiro all played at the heart of defence across the month but Maguire was an ever-present.

The 31-year-old also contributed at the other end of the pitch too. Maguire scored a header in the FA Cup semi-final victory over Coventry, before showing his class ton and off the pitch in the topsy-turvy Wembley tie, and then netting against his boyhood club Sheffield United in our 4-2 Premier League triumph over the Blades.

Winner of the Premier League's Player of the Month award in November, this is the second time Maguire has been nominated for our monthly star-man award this term.
