TEAM NEWS

It was confirmed on Sunday that Harry Maguire will miss the match due to injury.

Erik ten Hag has revealed Marcus Rashford is not far away from a comeback.

Bruno Fernandes and Scott McTominay are battling against the clock, while Jonny Evans should return to the squad provided he trained without any issues over the weekend.

Anthony Martial is making progress in his bid to recover full fitness after undergoing a groin operation in January.

Former United keeper Dean Henderson is likely to be between the sticks for Palace, as Sam Johnstone – also once of this parish – is out for the season due to an elbow injury. Cheick Doucoure is ruled out until the summer.

The Eagles have received a huge double boost with England internationals Marc Guehi and Eberechi Eze both available to play.

Oliver Glasner confirmed he will be able to call upon the highly rated pair for Monday night's game during his pre-match press conference.

"It's very positive news," he declared. "Both of them are fit. Both trained. The players were off after Sunday and we started yesterday, preparing them for the United game.

"Both trained yesterday in the full session and again today, so it looks good. If everything continues as we expect, both will be in the squad."

PAST MEETINGS

The sides have already met twice this season, both games taking place within four days in late September. Goals from Casemiro, Alejandro Garnacho and Anthony Martial at Old Trafford helped United knock Palace out of the Carabao Cup in the third round, but the Eagles gained revenge the following weekend, as Joachim Andersen’s first-half goal was enough to secure victory in the Premier League.

United haven’t won at Selhurst Park since July 2020, when Marcus Rashford and Martial scored, with two draws and a defeat in south London since. That reverse, on the final day of the 2021/22 campaign, marks the only time Palace have claimed three points against us on their home patch in the Premier League era, with United winning eight of the other 13 meetings.

FORM GUIDE

Palace have lost just three of their 10 games under the stewardship of new manager Oliver Glasner and are without defeat in four, a run which includes an impressive 1-0 victory over title-challenging Liverpool at Anfield. The Londoners have also beaten West Ham United and Newcastle United in their last two home outings and are looking to record three straight victories at Selhurst Park for the first time since October 2022.

Jean-Philippe Mateta has been among the goals recently, scoring in each of his five home appearances under Glasner. According to Opta, the Frenchman can become the first player to score in his first six home outings under one manager in the Premier League since Alan Shearer, who did so for Kevin Keegan during the 1996/97 campaign.

PALACE’S NEW MANAGER

Glasner replaced Roy Hodgson in February, with the former England boss departing following a run of just three wins from 17 matches. The Austrian, who won the Europa League with Eintracht Frankfurt in 2022, has previously managed SV Ried and LASK in his homeland, as well as Bundesliga side Wolfsburg. A former defender with over 500 professional appearances, Glasner has guided the Eagles to safety and preparations can start for a 12th straight top-flight campaign at Selhurst Park.
