Scott McTominay has allayed fears that the knee injury he sustained against Burnley is a serious issue.

The midfielder looked visibly upset after being hurt towards the end of Saturday's 1-1 draw, sparking fears he could miss the run-in, including the Emirates FA Cup final against Manchester City at Wembley.

After being withdrawn for Mason Mount, there was some anxiety from supporters, and manager Erik ten Hag admitted afterwards that our next game, against Crystal Palace, could come too soon for the Scotland international.

However, Scott has posted on Instagram to suggest he will not face a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

"I slipped and fell awkward[ly] on my knee, similar to against Chelsea," McTominay said.

"Nothing serious, just hyperextension, but I was angry and upset that I thought it was worse than it was.

"Hoping to be back on the pitch very soon to help the team as much as I can."

McTominay was initially injured against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on 4 April but returned, and scored, in the FA Cup semi-final against Coventry City.

The Reds have four league games left, starting with the trip to Palace next Monday, before the big one with Manchester City on 25 May.
