Return here for updates on Monday and Tuesday as
Ben Hibbs travels with the team for the final Champions League group game in Wolfsburg...
Tuesday 8 December
19:08 Right, that's pretty much it from me - Matt Nichols will take you through the game itself from 19:30 GMT in Match Tracker. Thanks for reading Today in Wolfsburg over the last two days... here's to our next European away trip, sometime in February.
19:06 Four youngsters are on the bench, all eager to make their United debuts, I'm sure. Commiserations to Oliver Norwood, by the way - 19 players travelled, but only 18 could make it on the teamsheet. Olly's the unlucky one.
19:05 I'm guessing the formation might be 4-4-2 with Gibson at right-back, instead of Park as UEFA.com has stated.
19:04 So now we know the actual team and subs, as follows: Kuszczak, Gibson, Carrick, Fletcher, Evra, Park, Scholes, Anderson, Nani, Welbeck, Owen. Subs: Foster, Gill, James, Eikrem, Stewart, Valencia, Obertan.
18:20 There's been quite a bit of talk this afternoon about United fielding a back three - I think it could be Fletcher, Carrick and Evra. With the wealth of midfielders in the squad, it would make sense to field five, so we might see 3-5-2 - a very rare Reds formation. The guessing game will soon be over - watch this space for confirmed team news.
18:15 I'm on my way to the stadium for the match now, kick-off is 90 minutes away. The city centre has livened up considerably in the last two hours or so, following the arrival of Reds from their overnight bases in Berlin, Hanover and Hamburg. The bars have been filling up with fans singing United songs, and at last, it's starting to feel like matchday.
16:15 Don't forget to watch the videos on the left (under Related Video, funnily enough). The latest clips feature a pre-match interview with Mike Phelan, and Paddy Crerand and Stewart Gardner's pitchside observations from training last night.
15:05 There really isn't a lot to do or see in Wolfsburg from what I can gather, although
