Stay another day

"I cannot think of a better person to give the elixir of life to then Sir Alex. I thought it could perhaps be shared between him, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Gary Neville, though I suspect the latter three already sprinkle it on their cereal each morning!"

Let us know what Christmas gifts you'd give to United on Talking Reds

All I want for Christmas

The approach of Christmas Day got us thinking here at ManUtd.com about gifts we could give the United team. Perhaps a magic sponge that cures all manner of injury, or maybe a huge heater so we could start playing some football again? Here’s what Nathan Thomas would give the Reds...

As supporters of Manchester United we don’t want for much. We have been spoilt rotten over the past two decades, enjoying great players, exciting matches and trophies galore. So what do you get for the person who has everything?

One film series that always makes me think of Christmas (I’m not sure why) is Harry Potter. The first film centres on a mysterious stone that contains the elixir of life, the Philosopher’s Stone, which grants the gift of immortality. I would have this gift-wrapped at the Megastore for Sir Alex.

The great man surpassed Sir Matt Busby’s record last weekend to became United’s longest-serving manager; it made me pause to reflect on how much he has achieved in his 24 years at the helm.

I want this success to continue and the Philosopher’s Stone should guarantee the boss another two thousand years or so at the club. I cannot think of a better person to give the elixir of life to. It could perhaps be shared between Sir Alex, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Gary Neville, though I suspect the latter three already sprinkle it on their cereal each morning!

My plan is flawless, as I’m sure you’ll agree, so I’m going to have a whip-round later in order to buy it in time for Christmas. Merry Christmas everyone!

What would you get for United this Christmas? Let us know on Talking Reds.
