Gallery: Gunners overcome

Manchester United's 2-1 victory over Arsenal was played in bright sunshine at Old Trafford, giving the pitchside photographers plenty of good material.

The Reds' very own John and Matthew Peters were among the snappers focusing on Robin van Persie in particular as he lined up against the Gunners for the first time since leaving them to join United.

They were rewarded of course when the Dutch striker scored the opening goal with less than three minutes on the clock. And the drama continued with Wayne Rooney's penalty miss, Patrice Evra's goal - only the fifth of his six-year United career - and a red card for young Arsenal star Jack Wilshere.
