Reserves set to face Norwich

United's Reserves will be tackling Norwich when the first team are in Champions League action against Basel.

Warren Joyce's side are making the long trip to East Anglia to face the Canaries' second-string with a youthful line-up guaranteed due to the European commitments.

"It will be a tough game down there for sure," Joyce told ManUtd.com. "When you look at things, their first team is playing tonight against Sunderland and anyone who doesn't play in that will play against us.

"We've just got a young team, basically an Under-19 side.

"Barring Matty James and Davide Petrucci, it's the bulk of the youth squad from last season."

The Carrow Road clash is United's last scheduled fixture at Reserves level until October 13.
