Senior Cup final for Reds

While United's first team take on Barcelona, the Reserves are hoping to land more silverware in the Lancashire Senior Cup final.

The fixture at Leyland is something of an anamoly as the all-conquering side qualified for the meeting with Accrington Stanley by beating Blackpool in the semi-final towards the end of last season.

With Reserves football being revamped and rebranded as the Under-21s, it's an opportunity to round things off on another positive note after scooping both the national title and Manchester Senior Cup already in 2012.

Warren Joyce admits that many of that team are keen to be involved against Stanley but the new influx of players means he has a real selection dilemma on his hands.

"It's just the way it panned out as it is still last year's cup," he stated. "The boys are saying they want to win it to finish off winning everything but we'll  have to see who gets to play in it."

Robbie Brady and Scott Wootton are definitely unavailable after joining Jesse Lingard and Michael Keane in the first-team squad in Sweden but Joyce can still call upon a number of key performers from last term, such as Davide Petrucci, Ryan Tunnicliffe, Marnick Vermijl and Larnell Cole.
