A Manchester United XI will head to Gloucestershire to take on Conference outfit Forest Green Rovers on Sunday 5 August, the club can confirm.
The match at The New Lawn will kick off at 3pm and was organised by former Reds skipper Gary Neville and Rovers chairman Dale Vince as part of the launch of the Sustainability in Sport foundation.
It is likely to form an important part of the pre-season for some of Warren Joyce's Reserves squad with more fixtures due to be announced soon on ManUtd.com. The Lancashire Senior Cup final against Accrington Stanley has already been pencilled in for 8 August.
The friendly takes place on the same day as the first team are in Oslo to face Valerenga as part of Sir Alex Ferguson's preparations for the 2012/2013 campaign.
