Senior Cup final date set

United's Reserves get the opportunity to lift more silverware when competing in the Lancashire Senior Cup final on Wednesday 8 August.

Warren Joyce's side rounded off a fabulous season with success in the Barclays Premier Reserve League and Manchester Senior Cup final but another trophy is still up for grabs after Blackpool were beaten in a semi-final penalty shoot-out in May.

League Two side Accrington Stanley will provide the opposition at the Lancashire FA County Ground in Leyland and it presents an opportunity to close the gap on Blackburn Rovers on the competition's roll of honour. Rovers' triumph last season ensured they lifted the trophy for an 18th time with United second on the list with 13, including wins as Newton Heath.
