Danny is a midfielder who combines tough-tackling and silky skills, and has been capped by England at Under-21 level.
The local lad has been with United since the age of 10, and he his rise through the Reds' ranks kicked into overdrive during the 2008/09 season.
Having spent most of his 2007/08 campaign in Paul McGuinness' youth team, Danny blossomed as he made the step up to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Reserves.
Drinkwater thrived in the Reds' 4-5-1 formation, striking up a particularly fruitful partnership with Tom Cleverley, and scored twice in 15 appearances
for the second string - including a dramatic late winner in the Lancashire Senior Cup final against Liverpool.
Having played a key role in United's successful defence of the Manchester Senior Cup, Danny joined League One side Huddersfield Town on a season-long loan at the start of the 2009/10 campaign.
