Tour Diary 5: Melting in Macau
ManUtd.com journalist Gemma Thompson is travelling with the team throughout their tour of Asia and will be bringing readers regular updates from inside the United camp...
The players were up early on Sunday morning ahead of 9.30am training session at the Macau Stadium. The 16,000-seater ground is literally five minutes drive from our hotel which makes a change from the hour-long trips to the stadiums in Tokyo and Seoul!
On arrival at the ground, the players were greeted by around two thousand fanatical fans all cheering, singing and waving 'Champions' flags. A rendition of 'We've got our trophy back!' in broken English brought a smile to the players' faces. The squad trained for over an hour in searing temperatures and finished with a couple of mini games. Nani took part in the full session and Sir Alex confirmed afterwards they he play some part in Monday's match with Shenzhen FC. The players signed
