Dong Fangzhuo has flown into Macau to join up with his United team-mates following China's exit from the Asian Cup.

The Chinese national team were knocked out of the competition on Wednesday after losing 3-0 to Uzbekistan.

Sir Alex confirmed the 22-year-old striker has been reunited with the Reds but said that he will not be involved in the team's remaining two matches during their Far East tour.

"He needs his rest after being involved with the Asian Cup for the past three weeks," explained the United boss. "He's a good young player and we have high hopes for him."

The Reds take on Shenzhen FC at Macau Stadium on Monday night in the third of their four-game Asia trip.
