I'll be back, vows Park

Ji-sung Park has vowed not to be the forgotten man of United's midfield, despite being sidelined until early 2008.

The Reds have signed three midfielders in the summer - Owen Hargreaves, Nani and Anderson - meaning competition for places will be strong next season. But Park is determined not to give up his place easily.

"Our team has acquired many good players in the transfer market," Park told reporters in his homeland. "Nani plays in the same position as I play but I don't expect to lose out should we have to compete."

Park believes that, when he does return, his two years of settling in England will be an advantage to getting back into the team.

"I know what [the new players] are going through, as I went through the same process two years ago," he added. "I will do my best to compete with them and strengthen my role with the team.

"I will play in fewer games because of the injury but I will make sure that my contributions will have improved quality."
