Burnley swoop for Eagles
Coca-cola Championship side Burnley have signed Chris Eagles, who arrives at Turf Moor on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
The 22-year-old midfielder made his Reds debut in the Carling Cup against Leeds in October 2003, but has since seen his chances limited to just 17 competitive outings and one goal, scored against Everton on the final day of the 2006/07 title-winning season.
Eagles also enjoyed loan spells with Watford, Sheffield Wednesday and Dutch side NEC Nijmegen during that time.
However, he still harboured hopes of regular first-team involvement with the Reds and shone on the recent pre-season trip to Africa, scoring against Kaizer Chiefs and Portsmouth.
But with opportunites in midfield sparse at Old Trafford, Eagles opted for a move to Burnley in search of regular first-team football.
