Obertan thanks the fans
Gabriel Obertan has thanked United’s fans for making him feel welcome at Old Trafford – and he’s promising to repay that show of support.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with ManUtd.com – which you can read in full next week – the 20-year-old Frenchman spoke of his ambitions to be a regular in the team, and how he has found settling in at United.
A big part of that has been the reaction from supporters, who've warmed to the winger immediately. At Barnsley in the Carling Cup – his debut – fans chanted his name throughout a promising display, then warmly greeted his first outing at Old Trafford against Blackburn.
"I'm very proud of that," he told us. "It gives you a huge push when you are playing and you hear the supporters singing your name. It’s like you have other forces behind you.
"It’s also made me feel very welcome here. If I hear the fans singing my name I want to give them something back by playing well and working hard for them."
Gabby would love to be involved against Chelsea on Sunday - and based on his promising performances so far there's no reason why Sir Alex Ferguson won't include him, even if only the bench.

Making an impression
