It would take a brave man to bet against United winning a third League Cup in four years and yet the Reds are currently only at odds of 5.6 (9/2) to lift the trophy at Wembley next year.

As for Tuesday night's quarter-final against Tottenham, bettors won't like the fact that they don't know who Sir Alex is likely to play. But regardless of the team United field, odds of 2.02 (evens) on a home win should be snapped up. 

Will the manager stick with youth or will he field a strong side? The truth probably lies somewhere in between, with two or three senior pros providing the back-bone as the likes of Gabriel Obertan and Danny Welbeck get further chances to shine.
