Park eyes training return
Ji-sung Park hopes to step up a gear next week with a return to full training.
The midfielder hasn't made any pre-season appearances for United, following a flare-up of his knee injury while playing for Korea at the end of the last campaign.
But with Ji's rehabilitation almost complete, he could be taking part in first-team training sessions between the Newcastle (17 August) and Portsmouth (25 August) matches.
He told MUTV: "I'm nearly there but I need probably one more week, just to get sharpness before I join first-team training. I'm not worried because it's not a serious injury - it's just a small reaction to my knee operation."
Park will hopefully pick up from where he left off last term, when he started five of the last eight games including both legs of the Champions League semi-final. His target?
"I want everything! I want to play as much as I can and score more goals.
"I'm really looking forward to the season because last season I missed the first six months. This time I want to be fully fit with no injuries so I can show my ability on the pitch."
The full interview with Park can now be viewed on MUTV Online.
