Role purpose

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Food Safety Support Officer with a strong passion for catering and food safety compliance. In this role, you will work closely with our culinary team to ensure that all food safety standards are adhered to every match.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working with the Kitchen Manager ensuring the safe and correct implementation of our critical control points in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Ensure temperature checks of hot and cold food are completed to the correct standard every time.
  • Ensure there is a no cross-contamination within the kitchen.
  • Ensure each kitchen is working to allergy safe procedures.
  • Address and resolve any compliance issues immediately to ensure the highest possible standards are achieved.
  •  Complete a match day digital kitchen audit to ensure record keeping is to the highest standard.  

This role requires availability on every matchday. Shifts will range from 6 to 8 hours per game. Start times will typically begin 5 hours prior to kick off through to 1 hour after the final whistle. Depending on kick off times there may be the occasional early start or late finish.

Match Day – each shift will start by a full food safety briefing by our Regulatory Services team to set expectations and to support any training needs.


Skills and experience

 The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in a catering or food service environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with a wide range of people.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  •  The ability to manage and navigate difficult conversations professionally.

Desirable Experience 

  • Knowledge of food safety and public health legislation.
  • A minimum Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene certification.
  • Understanding of allergens and up-to-date training in allergen management.
