Still euphoric after United's quarter-final victory over Roma, fans on our Talking Reds message board have been turning their attention to the upcoming semi-final clash with Spanish giants Barcelona...

“I think we will beat them if we go at them. What we don’t want to do is let them get into playing their football. I don’t like to see Rooney on his own up front, but a midfield diamond of Scholes, Carrick and Hargreaves would be solid against them. Nani on the left and Ronaldo on the right running at them would upset them. The battle will be won in midfield I think. Win that and the game will be ours.”
“After that professional win over Roma in the quarter-finals, and with Barcelona being lucky against Schalke with two fortunate goals, I think we have to be favourites - although it will be a tough match. It could be key that Barca are without four major players - Puyol, Deco, Messi and Ronaldinho. I predict we'll draw 1-1 at the Nou Camp and then win 3-1 at Old Trafford, making it 4-2 on aggregate to United! Then, hopefully, we'll be up against Liverpool in the final!”

“Am I the only one who thinks we will crush Barca? They aren’t the force they were two or three years ago, with most of the players either injured, suspended, out of form or homesick. This is probably the best time for us to take on Barca and finish them at their place, just like we did to Roma. When we go there we should make a point of throwing everything including the kitchen sink at them and finish off the tie there. I am extremely optimistic it will be a 2-0 result for us at their stadium with Ronaldo and Tevez scoring.”
