Gemma Thompson is travelling with the United team for the Champions League tie against Inter. Return here for regular updates from Milan...
Tuesday 24 February
18:59 Well, that's it from me. I hope you've enjoyed this live blog from Milan. Now all we need is a win to round the trip off! Follow the game with Nick Coppack over on Match Tracker, and stay logged on after the game, where I'll be bringing you reaction to the result.
18:49 I'm at the stadium now. There was a large scattering of United fans outstide the hotel to wave the team off. The atmosphere here is already buzzing. I'm in the press box very high up in the stand above the dugouts. It's the perfect view. The big talk in the press box now is that there's no Wayne Rooney in the starting XI. But he's a great option from the bench.
14:39 The players are now resting in their rooms ahead of tonight's game. Feeling confident?! I'm slowly starting to feel more so. The squad will meet for their pre-match meal around 6pm local time, before making the short trip to the San Siro. Just had a quick chat with Robbo in the lobby (he's on the trip in his ambassador role) and, providing O'Shea and Evans are both fit, he's going for a 1-1 draw. I hope he's right!
12:14 via text: Having a wander round the main square, Piazza Duomo - the famous cathedral here is a sight to behold. There are lots of Inter fans around and the odd sprinkling of Reds; I think many are yet to arrive. The ones I have spoken to are confident: 1-1 and a 2-1 win are the scores being bandied around. Weather-wise it's gone a bit misty... and it's freezing!
09:45 Greetings from Milan. It's a lovely sunny day here, but rather chilly at around 2 degrees. I'm just about to head down to breakfast after a rather restless night's sleep... I dreamt about the game funnily enough and, dare I say it, we won 2-1. How we'd all love that to become a reality
