Blog: Sweet win to savour

Our message board is full of positive posts after United's 3-0 win over Chelsea. Here's one example, from a blogger named 'purefootball'...

And this is why we are the world champions!

With the whole world watching - including Jose Mourinho in the stands at Old Trafford - the champions couldn't have scripted anything better.

Chelsea's away form is fantastic, they do not concede away goals, but our home form is equally good. Something had to give and how it did. A clean sheet and three goals, a rebirth for United from the recent life of winning 1-0. I want to see this game at least twice more this week.

This is not just about the three points, this is about how we played the game, this is about the class of United which was on show for a full 94 minutes.

Chelsea packed the midfield with their strongest five players and kept Drogba upfront. Everybody, including all the TV pundits,  thought this was frightening. And to think that we were without Rio!

I think the entire United team played magnificently, it was an overwhelming team performance and nobody should be picked out for special mention.

Here are some of the sweeter moments to savour:

(1) 44th minute -  the move involving Rooney, Ronaldo, Park and Berbatov. Park's shot was blocked by John Terry, but this was a mesmerising move.

(2) 45th minute - Rooney takes the corner kick by just moving the ball, Giggs takes the ball and crosses and Ronaldo jumps and puts the ball beyond Petr Cech just as he did in the Champions League final. How sad this was not allowed.

(3) Second goal - Ronaldo's back heel to Evra, Evra's cross, Berba's jump and Rooney scores through the legs of Ashley Cole.

With Chelsea two goals down, we expected them to strike back. But watch the game again from 72 minutes to 76 minutes - they just didn't touch the ball. And in the 83rd minute we had three shots on goal.

Perhaps the defining moment, though, came very early in the game when Lampard kicked Ronaldo and got a deserved yellow card. From then, Lampard
