The Reds may be leading the way in Group B of the Champions League after back-to-back wins over Besiktas and Wolfsburg, but what are the team's chances of reaching a third consecutive final and who will be the Reds' biggest rivals? United Review recently spoke to fans outside Old Trafford to get their view...
"I certainly hope we can make it three in a row for final appearances, but it won’t be easy. The amount of money Madrid have spent on quality players gives them a chance and I think Chelsea will be in with a good shout. But I think Barcelona will be the biggest threat. Rooney and Berbatov will be key, as will Fletcher who has been awesome this season."
"As long as we buy another striker in the January window I think we can make the final again. The midfield and defence is strong enough, but if lose one of the three main strikers we’ll be in trouble. You can’t look past Barca as the main competition. I don’t think any other British sides are equipped to go all the way and I don’t think Madrid will be there because they concede as many as they score. Owen could get us a few crucial goals and Hargreaves has something to offer when he comes back."
"We have the strength in depth and the quality to get there. We’re playing differently this year, Ronaldo was fantastic going forward but didn’t track back, whereas Valencia does. Chelsea and Barcelona will be the biggest threat, I don’t see Real Madrid doing much to be honest. Arsenal and Liverpool can get far but won’t reach the final. Rooney is our most important player, then Rio and Vidic and Evra, and Giggs’ experience will be crucial."
