Your Scholes tributes

On Monday afternoon we posted a video containing some of Paul Scholes’ best league strikes after the 35-year-old notched his 100th at Wolves on the weekend.

The video prompted a flurry of comments on the Talking Reds message board. Here’s a taster of what fans have been saying about the midfield maestro:

Simply United My favourite player of all time and my idol. A true professional with the ability to make near enough anything seem effortless.

Axis111 For me, my favourite Scholes goal has to be the one against Aston Villa. Even the Villa supporters were applauding that goal. I sure hope he signs a new contract.

Matt Cornejo Paul Scholes is pure legend. His range of passing is unmatched by any midfielder in Premiership history.

xDonstonex My favourite Scholes goal has to be the one he scored at San Siro three weeks ago! I like how he fooled the goalkeeper with his right and then hit it with his left.

Greeno10 Never mind the best Scholes goal, the volley against Villa is the best goal I have ever seen in terms of power, precision and technique.

Nighty His vision and passing is on another level. In terms of goals, his blockbuster against Villa in 2006/07 is my favourite goal ever. It is quite unbelievable. Also, my friends and I constantly try and set each other up on the edge of the box from a corner to try and execute a ‘Scholes’.

vidic-is-god My favourite has to the goal away against Bradford. Becks took a corner out to Scholes, who was outside the box. Without letting the ball bounce he smashed it into the back of the net. Sublime skill.

The Gaffa Villa tops the list but that tracer bullet drive into the top corner at Middlesbrough was seriously one of my favourites from the little master.

United_Head Paul Scholes, still my favourite United player since 1996.
