18:02 If you weren't fortunate enough to be here at Old Trafford to see the naming of the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand, then you can watch it now in a free four-minute video on ManUtd.com - courtesy of our good friends at MUTV. Surprise, Sir Alex! (AB)
17:18 As for the surprise renaming of the North Stand as the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand, the boss confirmed he knew nothing about it beforehand - unlike his assistant manager. The manager joked on MUTV, "Mick Phelan knew about it but he didn't tell me. So he's sacked, he's out the door!" (AB)
17:15 Sir Alex has just given his post-match interview to MUTV, with hoarse voice. He's pleased with the win, of course, but he did wonder whether the occasion - ie his 25th anniversary - negatively affected the players' performance. "They wanted to win for me." (AB)
17:06 What a day at Old Trafford. Not the best game I've ever seen and credit to Sunderland for the hard work they put in, but well done to the lads for grinding out the 1-0 win. United were not at their best, but the victory was hugely important ahead of the international break. The day will be remembered for the presentation to the boss before the game - the unveiling of the new 'Sir Alex Ferguson Stand' was a special moment and the manager seemed quite overwhelmed by the gesture. I certainly was. Look out for all the post-match reaction on the website in the next couple of hours. (GT)
