He also reflected on how close he came to firing in a third with a venomous shot that rattled against a post (Stewart Gardner, MUTV: "The post is still rattling out there!"). Carrick was disappointed that the ball didn't nestle beyond Paddy Kenny but I guess after one picture-book goal already against QPR this season, in the away match, he shouldn't be greedy. (AB)
