certainly possible he could be a substitute next week against Sunderland. It's three or four weeks for Anderson. It's a hamstring, it's not a serious thing, but it's still three weeks anyway." (AM)
17:00 Although it’s one of the most exciting fixtures in English football, if not the world, I always head into the Manchester derby with a large amount of trepidation. Personally, I find the whole day difficult to enjoy, largely due to an overriding fear of defeat. Having said that, the moment of relief and jubilation when the final whistle is blown on a Reds victory is worth every nerve-wracked minute. Hopefully, with a bit of luck, we’ll all experience the latter on Sunday. (MF)
13:43 I've just asked around the ManUtd.com office for predictions for Sunday. Initial pessimism gave way to a mixed set of predictions:
Adam Marshall: 1-0 to United. Rooney to score.
James Tuck: 3-2 to United. Welbeck, Rooney, Hernandez.
Mark Froggatt: 2-2. Robin van Persie to score both goals.
Adam Bostock: 4-1 to United. Rooney and van Persie to score two apiece.
Paul Davies: 1-1. Van Persie to score early, but we'll be hanging on.
Ben Hibbs: 2-1 to United. Van Persie to score first, Welbeck winner.
Gemma Thompson: 2-2. RVP to score both.
13:35 So, here's my view on how United should line up on Sunday. It may be risky but I'd like to see us go for it and really take the game to City, which is why I'd include Wayne Rooney in an advanced central midfield role, with three forwards in front of him. Let us know what your derby starting XI would be on Talking Reds. (BH)
