17:01 I’ve been writing a piece from Sir Alex’s press conference that you can read from 22:30 tonight, in which the Reds boss asserts that Liverpool v United remains the biggest game in English football. I, for one, agree. Liverpool away is still the fixture that incites nerves and excitement more than any other in the league for me, and tomorrow will be no exception. I’m expecting a cracker. (JT)
16:51 After Sir Alex's assertion this morning that he wanted everyone to "talk about the game and nothing else", his opposite number has been making similar noises ahead of Saturday's clash. "We want to concentrate on going out and playing football and any other sideshow is purely that, it is just a sideshow," Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish says. "Everyone has a responsibility to uphold the names of their respective club. But it is not only the fans who have to behave themselves; we have a responsibility to behave - but that is the case every time." (JT)

He was presenting a cheque for £5000 to the Meningitis Research Foundation after winning the money in a charity poker competition, even though he admits "there were far better players than me there!"
