Today at Old Trafford - 30 Jan to 3 Feb

Ashley Cole is suspended after his red card at Swansea in midweek with Jose Bosingwa or Ryan Bertrand set to deputise. Frank Lampard faces a fitness test on a calf problem and John Mikel Obi won't feature. (AM)

12:50 Rio Ferdinand has Tweeted to say he's not interested in replacing John Terry as England skipper after the Chelsea stopper was stripped of the captaincy this morning. "I don't want to be England captain after the last episode," said the Reds defender. "[I] just want to concentrate on playing for United and, if I make the squad, then, as ever, I'll be delighted." (Adam Marshall)

12:35 I'm still at Carrington waiting to speak to one of the players. I'm sat in the reception area and have just had the pleasure of watching a re-run of the 2008 Champions League final penalty shoot-out on the big TV - never tire of seeing John Terry's miss and Edwin's save. Just hope we're celebrating again on Sunday night. (GT)

11:06 Sir Alex was asked about the situation with Rio Ferdinand shaking John Terry's hand before Sunday's game given the ongoing case involving Rio's brother Anton and Terry. The boss said he would speak to Rio beforehand, but isn't concerned by the situation. "I will have a word with Rio to see what his stance is [on shaking hands with Terry]. Rio has been fighting the racism issue for years – I’ve seen that throughout the time I’ve known the lad. But there is a moment where he maybe needs to rise above that. It’s nothing to be ashamed off if he does decide to shake John Terry’s hand. I’ve no issues with that at all. The following week we have the situation with Patrice Evra and Liverpool. Patrice has already shown the courage to fight it by complaining about it and therefore he has nothing to be ashamed of. I don’t think it’s a problem
