Talking Reds user ziggyp1 was impressed by Ukraine winger Yevhen Konoplyanka's display against England...
Player name: Yevhen Konoplyanka
National team: Ukraine
Club team: Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk
Position: left winger
Match scouted: Ukraine vs England
Strengths: He is a quick and skilful player with two good feet. He plays on the left wing but is right footed therefore he has a tendency to cut inside and shoot or link the play with a teammate. Physically he is not that big but he is fairly strong and is not easily pushed of the ball. He is a good striker of the ball and can provide a goal threat averaging a goal every four to five games in his playing career.
Weaknesses: He tends to cut in field on most occasions which can become predictable and easy to defend against. He would be more dangerous if he went on the outside a bit more to confuse the opposition and keep them guessing.
Suitability: He could play on the left wing although may not command a starting spot due to the tough competition in that position. He would be a useful squad player as he can also play on the right wing. He has the potential to start after gaining some premiership experience.
Estimated cost: His coach Juande Ramos would be reluctant to sell as he has stated in the past when Dynamo Kiev were interested. Although if a team like United came in they would struggle to keep him. The manager slapped a 50 million euro price tag on his head to put off Dynamo Kiev; however, realistically he would probably be available from £8-14million pounds.
