Today in Cluj

expansion was completed in September 2008, increasing the capacity to 23,500 seats. There are plans for further renovations with a fourth stand of about 2,000 places expected to be built at the north end of the stadium, thus closing the arena.

16:22 Want to know more about Cluj have fared in the group stages? Well, they collected their first-ever home point in the competition in a goalless draw with Chelsea – their first encounter with English opposition - during the 2008/09 group stages. They later lost 2-1 at Stamford Bridge. Cluj picked up just one home point during that campaign, but fared better second time round in 2010/11 with a win over FC Basel and a draw with AS Roma at the CFR Stadium.

15:50 Earlier, I caught up with former United goalkeeper Alex Stepney who is on the trip with us. He expects Sir Alex to put out a strong side this evening and is predicting we'll see David De Gea in goal. He's also confident of a win for the Reds. MUTV also spoke to the European Cup winner - tune in to Matchday Live from 16:00 BST to see the full interview.

15:30 Our only other trip to Romania was for the aforementioned Champions League third qualifying round tie against Andone's Dinamo Bucharest in 2004/05. Ryan Giggs netted United's opener in a 2-1 first-leg win at Bucharest's old Lia Manoliu Stadium – the site of the new National Arena. The Reds followed it up with a 3-0 second leg victory at Old Trafford.

13:55 I've just uploaded a short video of the players leaving the hotel for their pre-match walk - click on the link on the left to see it. There's also a pic in the gallery. The lads are now on the grass outside the hotel doing a stretching session.
