Today at Old Trafford

10:54 I enjoyed reading Wayne Rooney's quotes about Roy Keane this morning. He's hoping to be a captain in the same mould as the Irishman and the comparisons wouldn't end there for me. I'm increasingly in the "Rooney for central midfield" camp these days - I could see him running the show from there just like Keano used to do. Feel free to disagree on our message board at (AB)

10:40 I couldn't help but chuckle at the complaint from Iraq's coach - none other than Brazilian legend Zico - after their gubbing by his compatriots last night. "I wanted to play Wales and they gave me Brazil." (!) He could end up with egg on his face if the Welsh do pop up on Iraq's fixture list in the near future. Did he not see Gareth Bale's performance at Old Trafford last month? (AB)

10:32 One of our 'United Nations' was in action last night, albeit without any Reds on the pitch - Rafael told me yesterday at Carrington that Brazil were in Sweden for a friendly. Hopefully he and Anderson will be back in the national squad soon, although it won't be easy after the South Americans thrashed Iraq 6-0. And how's this for a scoresheet - Oscar (2), Kaka, Hulk, Neymar, Lucas?! Blimey. I've got a hunch Brazil will do rather well in the 2014 World Cup, it being in their own backyard and all. (AB)

10:25 Good morning all, and believe it or not, it's a bright, sunny one in Manchester (after seemingly incessant rain last night). I just wish we had a United match to look forward to at Old Trafford tomorrow, instead of the international fixtures tonight. Still, the Under-18s will be in action - here's to us seeing the same conditions at Carrington when they take on Tottenham in 24 hours' time. (AB)
