Today at Old Trafford

Thursday 11 October

17:29 I’ve just been out to the Old Trafford forecourt, Megastore and Museum to speak to six fans for the Talking Point feature in an upcoming edition of United Review. I asked them what their favourite moment of the season has been so far, which despite its simplicity, is actually a tough question. Personally, I’d point to either Robin van Persie’s injury winner at St Mary’s, his first Old Trafford goal, or his penalty-spot decider at Anfield... It’s fair to say I’m a fan of the Dutchman! (MF)

16:04 As Mark mentioned earlier, today's papers have all been talking about Wayne Rooney captaining England tomorrow night and England manager Roy Hodgson has confirmed this afternoon that the United striker will indeed skipper the Three Lions for the World Cup qualifier against San Marino at Wembley. And the man himself is delighted. "It's something I'm really proud of," said Rooney. "It's a big challenge for myself, and I'm excited. Hopefully we can cap the day off with a good victory." It's been a pretty exciting 24 hours for Wazza following confirmation last night that he and wife Coleen are expecting their second child in May of next year. (GT)

15:00 As well as viewing some belters from Sir Bobby [see video links on the left], you can also now watch MUTV's latest news bulletin, presented by our regular podcast host Helen McConnell. By the way, we're sorry there's no podcast this week; normal service will resume after the international break as we build up to Stoke on 20 October. (AB)

14:25 A couple of weeks ago, I spoke to United fan and welterweight contender Matthew Hatton ahead
