09:30 Former United chairman Martin Edwards has been speaking to Sky Sports about Sir Alex and again insisted the boss would not have been sacked had the Reds lost at Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup third round in 1990. "I had actually approached him that week and told him that, whether we win or lose at Forest in the cup, you are not losing your job on that one result," Edwards stated. "We had that conversation during the week, so that certainly wasn't the case." (AM)
