Tomasz Kuszczak - A rare start for the Polish stopper, and he took his chance to shine. A commanding performance littered with outstanding saves; most notably his fingertip stop from O'Hara
Gary Neville - The skipper was rarely called upon to bomb forward, given Antonio Valencia's single-handed dominance of the right flank, but overall a steady, calm display
Wes Brown - Given a tough time in the first half by the Dindane/Picquionne axis, but recovered to withstand the hosts' physical approach after the break
Nemanja Vidic - Similar to Wes in that he grew in stature, and can count himself very hard done by to concede a penalty for a routine shirt tug on Picquionne
Patrice Evra - Came close to opening the scoring and was regularly up in support of Ryan Giggs down the left flank. Typical energetic outing from the Frenchman
Darren Fletcher - Dominant in the centre of midfield, as ever, and increasingly grew in his attacking influence. Superb ball for Giggs to lay on Rooney's second goal
Michael Carrick - Another elegant display of midfield string-pulling from the England international, who also offered a midfield screen for the defence before being replaced by Anderson
Paul Scholes - Chanced his arm from distance on a number of occasions, twice coming within inches of scoring, and a real hub of activity at the heart of the midfield
