Edwin van der Sar - Saved well in the first-half from a swift Bursaspor counter-attack. Had little to do otherwise, comfortably saving several long range efforts.
Rafael - The Brazilian was excellent throughout and continues to cement himself as first choice right-back. Constantly bombing forward and solid in the tackle.
Chris Smalling - Looks more comfortable and confident at the heart of the defence with each game. The England under-21 defender kept possession well and made several well timed interceptions.
Nemanja Vidic - The United captain was typically strong and dominant, particularly in the tackle against a disappointing Bursaspor attack. Partnered Smalling well, ushering the youngster through the game with little distraction.
Patrice Evra - Like Rafael, the left-back was excellent going forward and got behind the Turkish defence on more than one occasion.
Nani - Looked enthusiastic early on, cutting inside and constantly switching flanks with Obertan - forced off through injury midway through the first-half.
Michael Carrick - Improving each week and impressive at the heart of a five man midfield. His passing was slick and was combined well with Paul Scholes and Darren Fletcher.
Paul Scholes - Effortlessly controlled the midfield, spraying the ball around and linking defence to attack. Perhaps should have scored with a glancing header in the second half but an accomplished performance from the United veteran.
