Edwin van der Sar
As you’d expect from the scoreline, a very quiet afternoon for the Reds’ goalkeeper. Conceded near the end but not at fault.
Rafael
Timed his tackles to perfection and made life miserable for El-Hadji Diouf in the first half. Another solid performance.
Rio Ferdinand
Rio didn’t travel to Glasgow in midweek and might even count this 90-minute run-out as another rest. Next to nothing to do.
Nemanja Vidic
Like Rio, Vida was hardly called into action. He was barely sweating when the manager took him off on 64 minutes.
Patrice Evra
United’s foothold on the match meant the Frenchman could afford to push forward, although most of the damage the Reds inflicted came down the right.
Nani
Another good day at the office for United’s most consistent performer this season. He was instrumental in three of United’s goals (scoring one) and played a part in another.
Anderson
Fantastic in the heart of midfield, the Brazilian caused all sorts of troubles with his surging runs and forward passes. Good to have him back.
