Re-live Wembley win

15:07 James McArthur has been yellow carded for a cynical kick on Danny Welbeck, who is thankfully not injured as a result. (MF)

15:02 As is often the case at the new Wembley, the corporate seats are completely empty - the attendees are clearly too busy enjoying their free food and drink to care about the football. (MF)

15:00 The teams have re-emerged from the tunnel and the match is back under way. Neither manager has made changes. (MF)

Half-time: Manchester United 1 Wigan Athletic 0

14:46 Well, that's it for the first half. Mark Clattenburg has blown his whistle and the teams are retreating to the changing rooms. It's been a relatively low key opener with chances few and far between, but as we all know, it's the score that matters most. (MF)

14:44 There was a bit of handbags just then as Grant Holt tried to intimidate Nemanja Vidic while the two jostled for positions inside the Reds area. Intimidate Vida, are you sure Grant? Amusingly, Mark Clattenburg was quick to step in as the United fans launch into Vidic's song. (BA)

14:36 By the way, I've added a selection of photos to our live match gallery, which can be accessed by clicking on the main image. You should check them out, the ones of Van Persie celebrating his goal are ace. (MF)

14:32 First audible contribution from the small band of Latics fans, with a passionate if short-lived refrain of 'Come on Wigan, come on Wigan'. Perhaps, having avoided conceding a second goal up to this point, they feel they're still well in the game. (BA)

14:27 United have been in such control of these opening exchanges, it's allowed the fans to warm up their vocal chords with a few early-season renditions of songs we'll hear throughout the 2013/14 season. 'Stand up for the champions' just got a run-through, which is ours and ours alone this season. (BA)
