That potential semi-final date with Roberto Mancini’s men is scheduled for the weekend of 13/14 April and could force a fixture double-header, given that a league derby at Old Trafford is confirmed for five or six days earlier on Monday 8 April. The latter is a match which Cole regards as a potential title decider.
“It is going to be one of the biggest games of the season because of the positions both teams are in," Cole told us. "If Man City manage to win it then they will still be in with a shout of winning the championship.
“But if we win it, then that will move us another three points closer to the title. Both teams will agree this is a pivotal match at a crucial time in the season. It’s going to be massive.”
