United legend Denis Irwin will be in Singapore from 25–29 April to accompany the Premier League trophy as DHL delivers it the famous city in the latest leg of the tour. Irwin will also be meeting up with former Reds defender Paul Parker, who now lives in the country.
United have over 1.15 million dedicated fans in Singapore and this is an opportunity for them to engage with the club. Fans will have the chance to have their picture taken with the coveted trophy and Irwin during various events, including fan parties and in-store activity. Last season, over three million Singapore fans viewed a United game and the club hopes they all get a glimpse of the silverware.
As its official logistics partner, DHL plays a key role behind the scenes when it comes to delivering success for United. After successful tours of Latin America, parts of Asia and not forgetting Manchester, the DHL Champ19ns Trophy Tour will be delivered to 27 destinations this year, including India, Turkey, Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Africa and Norway. The trophy will travel almost 48,000 miles, giving fans across the globe the opportunity to celebrate the club’s prestigious 19 league titles.
United's commercial director Richard Arnold said: "The 19th league title was a special moment for everyone in the Manchester United family and the DHL Champ19ns Trophy Tour is our way of being able to share that historic achievement with our 333 million fans around the globe. The passion and fervour of United fans is famous around the world, and Singapore is no different."
