Trophy on tour in India

Manchester United fans in Delhi came out in force to see the Premier League trophy and meet former players Denis Irwin and Quinton Fortune as the DHL Champ19ns Trophy Tour arrived in India.

The tour was launched by Jerry Hsu, Chief Executive Officer, DHL Express Asia Pacific, as he and the two United legends signed a flag commemorating the visit.

Fans traced the tour via and to some of Delhi’s most prominent landmarks including Red Fort, the Lotus Temple and the India Gate monument.

One fan was so eager to see the trophy and the former players he arrived at 04:00 in the morning to ensure he was the first person to welcome them to Delhi.

Next stop - Mumbai, 8 February

The trophy will next be on show in Mumbai on Wednesday 8 February. At 17:30 local time, it will be at the Gateway to India - a historical monument located on the waterfront and built to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary to Bombay in 1911 - concidentally the same year when the second of United's record 19 league titles was won.
