Following on from last season's success, Lucozade Sport is once again giving amateur footballers the chance to win a Barclays Premier League club-style sponsorship package for the 2009/10 season.
Teams will compete in the Lucozade Sport Performance League (LSPL) - a virtual, online championship involving amateur football teams from around the UK.
Last season’s LSPL lived up to all the hype with each side taking part receiving free kit and a season’s supply of Lucozade Sport. Not only that, they were trained by top-flight club coaches including United first team fitness coach, Tony Strudwick.
The finals of the LSPL Cup were held at United’s Carrington training ground, while the 2008/09 end-of-season finale between Drumchapel United and Oakwood FC was played on the hallowed turf at Old Trafford. As the eventual winners, Drumchapel went on to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime trip pre-season training camp in Austria.
You can watch a video of the 2008/09 finale on the LSPL website.
The plans for next season are even bigger. The winners will be given a real taste of what life is like at the very top. There will once again be more opportunities to play at Barclays Premier League club stadiums, win VIP United tickets and train with top club coaches.
