Salford-born artist Harold Riley unveiled his new collection of Manchester United portraits on Wednesday night at an exclusive Old Trafford event.
Guests included former Reds Denis Law, Jack Crompton and Willie Morgan, while Simply Red singer Mick Hucknall was also in attendance.
Sir Alex, one of 12 figures Rliey has committed to canvas, joined the artist onstage for an enlightening Q&A session. He joked that Riley had made him appear "much more attractive".
The first pair of fine art prints – Sir Alex Ferguson and Sir Matt Busby – are on sale now at the stadium's Megastore. They can also be purchased online at store.manutd.com.
Two new prints will be released in December and then every two months thereafter. They will feature the following 10 players: Duncan Edwards, Sir Bobby Charlton, George Best, Denis Law, Bryan Robson, Eric Cantona, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo. The posters are limited edition and personally signed by the artist.
"In my collection, I've chosen managers and players I've seen, photographed and drawn from the touchline," Riley says.
