United to play in Norway

Manchester United will return to Norway for the first time since 2002 when they play Valerenga as part of the DHL Pre-season Tour on 5 August 2012 in the Ullevaal Stadium in Oslo.  The match will form part of the Club’s preparations for the 2012/13 season.

Announcing the game, United chief executive David Gill said: “We have fantastic fans in Norway – the Scandanavian supporters’ club is our biggest anywhere in the world with over 40,000 members. It’s great to have the chance to play in front of them again.”

John Pearson, CEO of DHL Express Europe, said: “We are delighted to be involved in another tour with Manchester United. Using our global network we’ll be supporting the back room team to prepare for the Oslo leg of the tour and ensure that the team are ready to deliver success on the pitch.”

The match will be sponsored by ATEA, the number one supplier of IT infrastructure products and services in the Nordic and Baltic region.
