On 26 May 2012, new laws come into force relating to the use of cookies on websites. These laws regulate how the operator of a website such as must inform website users as to how cookies are used.

What are cookies?
Cookies are small pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your computer's hard drive. The information collected by cookies does not personally identify an individual, however, they are often used as a mechanism for websites to remember things that a website browser has done there in the past, for example, clicking on particular buttons, logging in, or having read pages on that site months or years ago.
