The cover of Sir Alex Ferguson's autobiography is revealed for the first time today as plans for the book's 24 October release gather momentum.
London-based photographer Sean Pollock, a portrait specialist, captured the image of British football's most successful manager at a special session earlier this summer. Sir Alex's notes and reflections on his extraordinary career were, of course, collated over a longer period; in fact, the former Manchester United boss penned his memoirs during the final four years of his epic and glorious reign at Old Trafford.
The eagerly-awaited book will be officially launched by publishers Hodder & Stoughton at a press conference in London on 23 October, on the eve of its publish date. A series of "in conversation with" events open to the public will then take place, as follows:
Monday 28 October – 19:30 at The Lowry Theatre, Salford
Hosted by Dan Walker, best known for presenting BBC 1’s Football Focus. Box office: 0843 208 6000. Tickets on sale from 13 September.
