Following activities around the Liverpool game, Manchester United unveiled their latest signing at Old Trafford on Sunday night at midnight when the new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray was revealed on the East Stand window of Old Trafford.
Whilst the reveal took place in Manchester, the new Corvette was simultaneously being launched at the Russell Industrial Center in Detroit. The Chevrolet Corvette is a symbol of America across the pond and generates passion and emotion from its fans that could rival that of the fans in the Stretford End.
The rivalry between Manchester United and Liverpool is steeped in history and tradition just as the Chevrolet Corvette is. Tadge Juechter, the Corvette's chief engineer, demonstrated this when he was asked what he thought made the car so special and replied, "America has a 60-year love affair with this car, it’s a cultural icon”.
Although some people were at Old Trafford for the grand reveal at 11:59pm on Sunday 13th January, tens of thousands of fans will get the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the latest edition of one of the most famous sports cars in the world, when they come for the FA Cup 3rd round replay versus West Ham United tonight.
