Manchester United legend Bryan Robson took to the pitch at half-time on Sunday alongside youngster Ellis Crawford to demonstrate the power the One World Futbol; with United a well-deserved 1-0 up thanks to a strike by Robin Van Persie.

Ex-Manchester United captain Robson, who was involved with the One World Futbol Project in China last year, was open in his praise for the work that One World Futbol does and highlighted that it is important to give back to the community:

“For me it’s (one world Futbol) terrific because football has given me a great life and it’s important to give things back. It’s always nice when you support things like this and it goes back into the community”.

Youngster Ellis was chosen to take penalties on the hallowed turf of Old Trafford by Starlight Children’s Foundation, who work very closely with the Manchester United Foundation and when the moment came for the local youngster to step up in front of the East Stand the considerable figure of Fred the Red seemed a big target to get past.

Even in Ellis’ dreams he couldn’t have hoped it would go better, with him scoring all three penalties against Fred the Red. Ellis then celebrated in style with a back flip reminiscent of Nani that drew cheers from the 76,000 in attendance, with even the Liverpool supporters applauding the young Manchester United fan’s efforts.

The One World Futbol Project and Chevrolet have partnered to bring the joy of soccer and play to young people around the world. Chevrolet has pledged to donate 1.5 million One World Futbols over three years through our network of organizations working with disadvantaged communities across the globe.
