If you fancy following in the footsteps of your United heroes while raising money for charity, and getting into the festive spirit at the same time, then the seventh annual Manchester United Foundation Santa Run is just for you!
Sunday 15 December is the date to pencil in, when you can opt for either the 5km route for more serious runners or the 2km family fun. Both start and end at Old Trafford, with the longer route starting at 11.30am taking in the Imperial War Museum, the Lowry Theatre and Media City. The shorter run starts at 12.30pm and will head around the stadium.
But runs both end in some style, with the finishing line at the end of the players tunnel in the Theatre of Dreams itself!
It’s £20 for family entrance, £10 for a single entry and £5 for kids. The price includes a Santa hat for kids and a full Santa suit for adults.
The worthy causes supported by the Foundation – Francis House Children’s Hospice, The Christie and Unicef – will all benefit from the money raised by the entrance fees, but runners can raise money for any other cause if they wish.
There’ll also be plenty of festive fun around the ground on the day, with Santa taking time off from his preparations to drop into his grotto, a brass band playing your favourite Christmas tunes and a fancy dress competition.
