Manchester United has today announced that the team will play LA Galaxy as part of Tour 2014, presented by Aon.
In the first match of the pre-season tour, United will face MLS side LA Galaxy at the Rose Bowl stadium in Pasadena, California, on Wednesday 23 July 2014.
Manchester United’s automotive partner Chevrolet will be the match sponsor for this fixture with the teams facing each other in the Chevrolet FC Cup. This match will be the first time that the United team will play in Chevrolet-branded shirts as the global automobile car manufacturer embarks on its seven-year partnership as the club’s new shirt sponsor.
Manchester United group managing director, Richard Arnold, said: “Playing LA Galaxy at the world-famous Rose Bowl will be an important part of the team’s preparations for the 2014/15 football season. The club has been visiting Los Angeles since 1950 and this match provides a great opportunity for us to engage with our fans in this region.
“The popularity of soccer in the US continues to strengthen and Major League Soccer and LA Galaxy have been fundamental to this. Our previous matches against MLS opposition have proved popular with fans and players alike and we are delighted to be returning to the US.
